Elizabeth Browning

Liz Browning is a health care industry veteran whose more than 30 years of experience provides Gorman Health Group clients an expert resource in the areas of regulatory compliance, health plan operations and compliance auditing.

Liz began her career with the Fallon Clinic where she worked in various roles for the group practice including arranging out of area and out of network referrals for patients.  As a natural progression, she later developed and oversaw the Referral Management Department. Ultimately, the department was transitioned to the Fallon Community Health Plan, an HMO that grew out of the group practice.  In 1980, FCHP was the first Medicare Senior Plan contractor in the country.

In 1997, Liz joined the Internal Audit Department as the Compliance Auditor and started the fledgling Compliance Program.  Her position developed into the role of Compliance Manager, responsible for oversight of the Medicare Compliance Program.  Liz was a leader in preparing FCHP for external monitoring site visits by CMS, OIG, the State and other regulatory bodies. 

Prior to joining Gorman Health Group, Liz was most recently the Medicare Compliance Officer and Director of Medicare & Medicaid Audit and Compliance at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island.

Liz earned her Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association in 2007 and her Certification for Physician Chart Auditing (PCA)  in 2008.

Liz earned her bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University.   She completed graduate work through a grant at the Bermuda Biological Station for Research in St. George, Bermuda as a diver and researcher on an Inshore Water Investigation project.
