Mary Lynn brings to Gorman Health Group (GHG) over 20 years of pharmacy and business experience in the managed care and pharmaceutical industry.
Since joining the Gorman Health Group, Mary Lynn has focused on refining Managed Medicare solutions specific for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. With a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as leading the 2008 Medicare Part D formulary review process and working in the PBM and managed care industries for more than ten years, Mary Lynn is well equipped to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies understand the needs of the managed care industry from a pharmaceutical perspective and build solutions with a sustainable return on investment.
Prior to joining GHG, Mary Lynn served as a consultant providing guidance on pharmacy benefit related engagements with Booz Allen Hamilton and The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She served as the technical lead for a team of pharmacists and as liaison to CMS for the formulary review process. Mary Lynn helped to interpret and apply guidance to evaluate the robustness and prevent discrimination of plan formularies. She also helped perform quality assessment on prescription drug plan formulary data and utilization management tools submitted to CMS.
As a consultant to URAC—an independent evaluator and accrediting body for healthcare quality, Mary Lynn facilitated group meetings of Specialty and Mail Pharmacy experts with the goals of highlighting industry issues and drafting standards for these lines of business. She also researched and drafted standard and related supporting materials for Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and Drug Therapy Management accreditation programs . Mary Lynn was instrumental in researching industry trends, assessing data and developing reports on key pharmacy issues.
Prior to working as a consultant to leading healthcare firms, Mary Lynn directed the strategic business development efforts and sales of products and services for major pharmaceutical companies in Trade Relations at Caremark/AdvancePCS. She also developed product synergies, line extensions and cross-product opportunities in the areas of outcomes research, physician detailing, health improvement initiatives and data products. Mary Lynn previously served as a Director in Disease Management at Advance Paradigm, where she worked with managed care plans and employer groups to develop and implement disease management programs.
In addition, Mary Lynn is a long-time an instructor and lecturer at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy.
Mary Lynn has a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland. She lives in Churchville, MD with her husband and two children.
