Mike Staiano is a Senior Consultant at Gorman Health Group (GHG). In this role, he brings a unique mix of information technology, operations management, shared services design, as well as business process improvement and reengineering. Through strategic thought leadership experience, Mike is able to devise, enable, implement, and deliver Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)-compliant business automation and technology solutions for multiple health care business models, including Medicare, Medicaid, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), third-party administrators (TPAs), hospitals, wellness centers, and clinics.
Mike brings GHG clients, a thorough, detailed, and comprehensive knowledge of numerous health care industry processes, including Health Information Exchange (HIE), the Affordable Care Act (ACA), 5010 and ICD-10, Data Warehousing, Medical Informatics, Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), e-health Strategies, Risk Adjustment, and has worked extensively in coordinating communication, reporting, website, and call center requirements with CMS and State Medicaid agencies for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Mike has worked with both health care organizations and State Medicaid agencies in developing strategies, securing government funding via Implementation Advanced Planning Documents (IAPD), and implementing associated plans for recent health care reform initiatives, such as Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Core- Stage 1-Stage 2 Meaningful Use Objectives (MU).
For more than 25 years, Mike has specialized in leading numerous large-scale, enterprise-wide, multi-module system implementations and migrations from a program sponsor, project management, technology lead, and change management lead across multiple industries. Over the last 10 years, he has focused efforts exclusively in the health care payer and provider space, and has specialized in leading implementations of products such as Facets, QNXT, Clinical Care Advance, NetworX, ika Enterprise and Xcelys, AMISYS eClinicalWorks, and NextGen, at several prestigious clients across the USA.
Mike holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Systems from Pace University in New York City, a Masters of Science degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Manhattan College, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
