Senior Director, Risk Adjustment Solutions
Eric Shapiro is a Senior Director of Risk Adjustment Solutions at GHG. In this role, he is responsible for the execution and oversight of risk adjustment projects across all Government and State Sponsored Programs (Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA).
Eric brings over 15 years of healthcare experience working closely with health plan payors, health services organizations and independent physician associations. Eric has extensive insight into risk adjustment activities including medical record retrieval, diagnosis coding solutions, provider engagement, and suspecting analytics.
Prior to joining the GHG team Eric was accountable for client success at CIOX Health. Eric’s efforts concentrated on project implementation and management, client engagement and RFP response. Eric also directed coding services surrounding Medicare Risk Adjustment and Commercial/ACA Risk Adjustment coding initiatives, Patient Assessment Forms (PAF) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology.
Preceding CIOX, Eric spent 8 years at Optum implementing customized clinical consultative services for health plan clients. Eric led a regional consulting team focused on promoting provider engagement to drive the delivery of prospective programs surrounding HCC RAF, HEDIS and STARS.
Before Optum, Eric held leadership roles in Product Management and Network contracting at HealthFirst New York.
Eric received his master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University specializing in Healthcare Policy and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University with a concentration in Health Administration.
