Vice President – Sales, Marketing, and Strategy
John A. Selby is a Vice President at GHG, responsible for developing and executing growth strategies for GHG and its clients. In this role, John collaborates with other members of the GHG leadership team and across the Convey Family of Companies to help clients improve financial, clinical, and operational performance while generating enrollment growth in Government and State Sponsored Programs (Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA).
John brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to GHG, including 15 years in Government Programs. He has held executive leadership positions with responsibility for P&L, strategic planning, revenue growth, product development and management, sales and marketing, vendor management, project management, compliance, and ancillary network contracting and quality.
Prior to joining GHG, John spent most of his career with health plans, including 20 years at Horizon BCBSNJ, where he held a variety of roles. At Horizon, he led enterprise Product Development, managed the under 65 individual market prior to and following health care reform, was responsible for Medicare Advantage, Part D and Medicare Supplement lines of business, and served as managing director of Horizon’s dental subsidiary. Most recently, John was EVP of a large general agency. He began his career with Prudential Healthcare, where he was National Marketing and Brand Manager.
John graduated from Seton Hall University and has completed executive education programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Babson College, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Center for Creative Leadership. He also attended Disney University’s Creative Leadership and People Management programs. John and his wife, Gina, have four children and reside in Verona, N.J.
